she needed to join the nun's convent and in 1928, 4 years after first seeing a vision of Jesus, she made her vows to become a nun. She acted as the cook when she was sent to the convent in Vilnuis and the Płock. Faustina then became very sick and was sent to a farm owned by her congregation to get better and she returned to the Płock convent about a year later. On the night that she returned, she received a vision from Jesus again wearing white with a red and a pale light coming from his heart and he told her, "Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: 'Jesus, I trust in You'. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and then throughout the world. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish." She was soon transferred Vilnuis again and there, she met the priest Michael Sopoćko who had her tested for being insane but she was diagnosed with having a sound mind so Sopoćko introduced her to Eugene Kazimierowski who painted the vision she saw. The painting was then publicly displayed on April 28, 1935. Then on September 13 and 14 of 1935 she received two separate visions from Jesus who told her how to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Faustina then became sick in 1936 with tuberculosis. She was reported to having kept on praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and in 1937, she had another vision from Jesus telling her how to pray the Divine Mercy Novena and she wrote the instructions down for Fr. Sopoćko to publish. In 1938, her illness progressed and she was moved to sanatorium in Prądnik where she died later that year after suffering for over 2 years. Now, the prayers that Jesus himself told her are some of the most prayed in the world and it all started with a poor girl from Poland.
